The Battelle Center is carrying out a research project with funding from the National Institutes of Health on the Science Workforce designed to understand factors to increase the diversity of the workers in biomedical sciences. The research team will be meeting for a day-long workshop to prepare a work plan for the third year of the grant. As part of our workshop, staff will be making presentations; the event is also part of the Glenn School’s Colloquium Series. http://glennschool.osu.edu/news/modeling/

Congratulations to Glenn School alumni Dana McDaniel on being promoted to Brigadier General in the Ohio National Guard. When not serving his country in the National Guard he is serving the citizens of Dublin, Ohio, as the Deputy City Manager and Director of Economic Development and is an At-Large Member of the Glenn School’s Alumni Society.
John Glenn to receive Presidential Medal of Freedom
Senator John Glenn will be among the 13 prominent figures to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest American civilian honor, from President Barak Obama later this spring. The award recognizes those individuals who have made “an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors”.
